Call for Papers for Haskins Sessions at 2012 Kalamazoo

The Charles Homer Haskins Society invites paper proposals for its sponsored sessions on “Historical Awareness and Memorial in the Anglo-Norman World” for the International Medieval Congress at Kalamazoo held May 10-13, 2012.

The Society welcomes paper proposals in the fields and periods of medieval studies to which Charles Homer Haskins himself contributed.  Although the conference is primarily a European history conference concerned with the years between the fall of Rome and the early thirteenth century, historically-minded literature, art history and archaeology papers are welcomed.

We welcome proposals both for complete sessions (of three themed papers) and for individual papers.  Please send a paper abstract of no more than 300 words and a current c.v. to Prof. Robert Berkhofer at robert.berkhofer@wmich.edu. Proposals will be accepted until September 12, 2011; the 2012 sessions will be finalized in mid-September.

If you are unfamiliar with the Haskins Society and would like to get a sense of the Society, its journal, and other activities, please take a look at the Society’s website at http://haskinsatbostoncollege.blogspot.com/
